Elvatech Specialised systems

Elvatech's specialized-task XRF systems are built for applications that don't fit a standard handheld or benchtop analyzer. The PmX-5050 is a continuous elemental analyzer for heavy metals in ambient air, providing ongoing monitoring rather than a single spot measurement – suited to environmental agencies and industrial sites that need to track airborne metal concentrations over time. The ElvaX Art is designed specifically for the non-destructive analysis of paintings, sculptures and other art and heritage objects, allowing conservators and researchers to identify pigments, metals and other materials without taking a physical sample from the artwork.

Both instruments share Elvatech's core energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) technology: an X-ray tube irradiates the sample, causing its atoms to emit characteristic fluorescent X-rays, which a detector measures and the instrument's software converts into elemental concentrations. Because the interaction happens at the level of individual atoms, XRF analysis does not alter or damage the sample – a decisive advantage when working with irreplaceable art objects or when continuous, unattended monitoring is required.
